What is the Rotary Club of Bartram Trail - Julington Creek?
Rotary is a worldwide organization committed to service and making the world a better place. Rotary of Bartram Trail Julington Creek brings that commitment to our local community. We challenge ourselves to make the world better by starting in our own back yard.
Who are we and what is our mission?
We are a group of about forty adults ranging in age from our 30s to our 70s living in and around St. Johns, FL (Julington Creek, Bartram Trail, RiverTown, and surrounding neighborhoods). We have a shared purpose to impact the world with service, kindness, understanding, and respect.
What is a typical meeting like?
We meet weekly (Thursday mornings at 7:30) to fellowship and share breakfast together, and end promptly at 8:30. We typically share announcements and have a time where members can share what's going on in their personal or professional lives. We then have a (typically local) speaker who shares about a topic which may be interesting to the club or may be a chance to get involved with a non-profit mission our members care about.
Who are our weekly speakers?
Examples of recent speakers have been veterans organizations, the St. John's Public library, a mentoring organization, a high school robotics team, the St. John's Homeless Coalition, and an organization focusing on mental health within the criminal justice system. You can find upcoming speakers on our Calendar page.
What kinds of projects do we get involved with?
There are plenty of opportunities to get involved and make a positive impact on the community. You could jump in with a roadside cleanup, join a team building wheelchair ramps, or get involved with our water purification partnership in Honduras. We also partner with local organizations such as the Betty Griffin Center and the Homeless Coalition of St. Johns County and make monetary donations to several organizations.
How can you get involved?
We'd love to meet you. Please reach out using the the "Contact Us" button on the menu above and send us a note. We're happy to answer any questions you may have.
If you like, you can also just show up to a meeting. We meet weekly -- Thursday mornings at 7:30 am at Westminster Woods on Julington Creek. Just follow the signs, park in a "visitor spot," and walk through community to the dining room (next to the community library and beauty shop).
